Originally from Vietnam Dean Vu migrated to Australia, since he was 18, Dean has been creating pop-up cards from 2004. On a visit to Japan, he discovered an array of exquisite textiles and forms of paper art, and that started the inspiration for his creative business.

Originally from Vietnam Dean Vu migrated to Australia, since he was 18, Dean has been creating pop-up cards from 2004. On a visit to Japan, he discovered an array of exquisite textiles and forms of paper art, and that started the inspiration for his creative business.
After much experimentation with all aspects of making pop-up cards—materials sourcing, design, prototypes creation, laser cutting, and hand assembling), he decided to break away from traditional floral designs popular in Asia and began creating his own unique style using contemporary designs and Australian content.
The Waratah was his first signature card and remains one of the most popular. Dean is committed to making a product that is both ethically responsible and environmentally sustainable. The Kishu paper from Japan is high-quality and is FSC-certified (the mark of responsible forestry). The protective cellophane packets are biodegradable.
